I happened upon this article on Match.com when I logged into BuckyStars ATT wireless connect. Stupid landing pages, but hey what’s this? Usually I get annoyed that there’s a landing page in the first place. If I’m going onto the Internet at BuckyStars, its for damn sure I’m not looking to read their landing page. I mean really! What in tarnation could they possibly offer me that I would be interested in?

Well wouldn’t you know it just as I was hit my blog link all of a sudden I see a title that reads: How to prep your place for a date. Of course I had to go back and read what they had to say. I mean usually most “advice” sites are going to emasculate men into believing they need to be little wussies with no balls to get the job done. In most instances its exactly why men need dating sites in the first place. They do not have the social skills to pick up a woman in a normal social environment. As in face to face meet up like a bar, club, book store, coffee shop what not.

I do believe I owe an entire other post to the other extreme where some men are acting out aggressive fantasies on blogs of who they wish to be. Reading some “field reports” you would have to believe the man in question to be a God to pull off some of the crap I’ve read. But I digress this discussion for another time.

So I want to review this Match.com article piece by piece.

Make your space look appealing to the opposite sex…
This applies especially to men, whose pads often resemble frat houses filled with mountains of laundry, grime-covered sports gear and empty beer bottles. First, clean up the mess — laundry in particular. “I’ve always found that the scent of dirty, sweaty clothes permeates single men’s apartments, so when I first visited my now-boyfriend Kevin’s apartment, I was happy to see that he had a real laundry basket with a lid,” says Esther, 31. No need to buy a whole new set of furniture — folding a chenille blanket over the back of your austere leather sofa or adding some flowers can do wonders. “When I first saw my boyfriend’s place it was pretty unimpressive, but he had a vase of daffodils in the living room, which made a difference,” says one 25-year-old who prefers to remain anonymous. “It showed he knew how to make an effort and was willing to do so for me.”

For the most part I would agree with this section of the article. However being well-versed in the scientific appeal of pheromones having sweaty clothing around can help you in many instances. You don’t need your nasty encrusted underwear around. While having a place for laundry and keeping your love lair clean it is also important to not make it sterile. I went over a friends house once and the place looked like it was devoid of any personality. It seemed like books and pictures were strategically hung and placed to bring up conversations. While normally this is a very good idea, these things need to have “VALUE” to you and not just be crap you read about in some PUA forum somewhere. Don’t get a book on magic or hypnosis or whatever unless it is something that you have read and are interested in. Another; don’t be a faker, woman can sense when all you are trying to do is impress them. While it might make an initial impression you are sure to be sleeping alone if that’s all its for. The impression should come from the interest it provokes, initially from the item, but the real interest should be directed towards you for being an interesting person for reading this to begin with.

I totally disagree with the flowers crap. What are you a freaking girl or a man? Holy freaking crap are you serious? Flowers? An interesting center piece is what you need. Get yourself some really cool art as a center piece, maybe some candles, scented if you really must cover the smell but remember your pheromones are important. Have a bowl with assorted items that have been left by other women. It’s a GREAT little “pre-selection” switch flipper when a woman sees an earing or thong, or a shoe in the bowl. Whats that, inevitably she will ask? Oh that’s the bowl with a sly smile and move on. I just asked the Barista Melissa at BuckyStars, a cute girl, what she would think if she walked in to see flowers on the table of a guy she is dating. Her response: “He’s either married or gay!” Come on guys, don’t be that guy. The chick who wants to remain anonymous who was impressed by the guy making an effort, most likely is the chick I’ll be doing later on tonight.

Edit what’s on your bookshelves: And while you’re at it stash away your masculinity. When I read this I almost spit out my coffee and started cursing. Who the fuck wrote this crap anyway I asked? The by line reads Celeste Perron. Of course you should hide away all your books with beautiful women and interesting male articles in them. My God you wouldn’t want the woman over your apartment to think you look at other women. While you’re at it you might want to tie your dick and balls between your ass-cheeks and wear a dress! I mean God forbid you give her the idea you might be interested in hot bodies and women in lingerie. Isn’t it funny that whenever I have woman over they always pick up my copies of Maxim or FHM before anything else. It’s a damn good way to let you know if she might be interested in a little kinky threesome fun too.

The rest of it seems like OK for the most part, but holy BeJezus I can almost feel my masculinity ripping out of my soul and being dragged across the floor. Sometime in the future I’ll do an entire post dedicated to how you should hook up your apartment to make it into your very own Love Lair.

Rock on dudes!

I’ve been hitting the gym up everyday for the past 8-9 months. Progress is made daily, but sometimes I can kick myself for the

JunkyFungus Transition Log

making stupid decisions that ultimately effect my progress. So here’s what I am going to do, I’m taking a picture everyday and posting it. Just to document my daily progress and what I’m doing.

Todays picture is brought to you by BuckyStars in Millington. Nothing really going on today here, but one cutey with a guy was already in and out. I didn’t do anything because my mind stopped me from having a good time. Right when I took this picture a really hot babe walked in and my eyes went right to her. When I got a closer look I would say she was underage but again my mind prevented me from having a good time.

I’ve started reading Magic Bullets again as Savoy is now posting over at Patalk. Some members have been reporting him as SPAM and sure why not, in reality he kind of is, but who cares? His posts add value and might benefit some beta boys. There’s lots of them too., but for the most part many of them at least recognize it and are taking steps to make life better by making changes.

I’ve been working my ass off to make changes too. Hitting the gym like a maniac, watching the diet, working on my tan and kicking up my personal development studies. Currently going through a comprehensive course on Hypnotherapy and my God man I am great at hypnotizing people. I even use it and tell the ladies I’m going to hypnotize you into having sex with me and they beg me to try. If they only fucking knew what I have done and sure as birds fly they end up in my bed soon after. Life is good, is yours?

I’ve been thinking about writing but I do so much of it at my job, that I sometimes just don’t have the ambition to blog anything. I’ve changed over the last year and now I do quite a few things differently then I used to. I have decided to do some serious gaming though, so that should add a bit of flair to the diary of a junky. It infects my life and sends me into bliss so that I may not escape. Ahh life is tremendously good right now for me. I am in such a good place with myself.

Sorry for the slight delay, I have lots of projects all happening at once

This part we cover: The value of EGO and being selfish. Words and actions that make us very much who we are and how to successfully navigate through life. We all have advantages and disadvantages in our lives. Some are born with tremendous opportunity in a particular area, but that does not negate the value of someone not born with that particular opportunity. Having an EGO is good and needed.

How does the effects of addiction like heroin, alcohol, smoking change our brain chemistry? We learn a valuable lesson from Shiva how we are all simply human with vulnerabilities and as such will make mistakes. Understanding this allows us to comprehend what guilt is, and as such the ability to forgive ourselves and make lasting change. This powerful segment shows awakens an inner sense of just who we are and how we interact with others by allowing us to see not just the world, but the lens we see the world through.

In this segment of the Harnessing Inner Game Interview with Shiva of www.SGMS.info we discuss how your conscious and subconscious mind is at war with itself. We learn how to forgive ourselves and the impact that denial has on us. Discover the truth about your instincts as a human and how our actions, regardless of our intentions can do damage to others.

I’ve gotten some pretty eye raising comments from some of my fellow friends in the Pick-Up community when I tell them that JunkyFungus has quit Pick-Up and will pursue life instead. Many of my friends kind of looked at me as if I had 17 eyes. One friend threatened to slap the holy bejesus out of me, another commenter said I finally figured it out, and yet another screamed “Yes, Yes” and it wasn’t even during sex. Actually the last one was when I was on the phone with her and I think I might have gone a little bit deaf.

What amazed me most was that there were two trains of thought when I announced my intentions. One, from 99% men was of astonishment and near anger. How could I do something like this? Was something messed up in my inner game? Did I have a brain tumor I was wearing a hat to hide? The other 99% females was it’s about time! You must have figured out woman really want romance, blah, blah, blah… Yeah I’m listening to that CRAP!

First off I didn’t say I was going to roll up my cock and put it away somewhere in cold storage. I didn’t say I was going to stop fucking every chick that met my fancy, and sure as hell I aint stopping loving that wonderful Pink and Squishy, warm and wet, soft and enveloping area of a woman us men call a pussy:). I’m not sure what idiot dreamed all this up, but fuck, get your head out your ass. OK enough of the cursing for this blog. One of my goals is to stop cursing so much and start lying more.

Anyway I figured it would be understood why I was leaving PUA behind and start thinking more forward, but I was wrong. You see, to me Pick-Up is very limited in its thinking. I mean I know a bunch of Pick Up Artists that are considered masters in their fields. There are guys who I always seem to really connect with and have an understanding of them more than I do of others. I mean I like Mystery and guys like him, but I can’t say that he would be my friend if we lived close. I wouldn’t say guys like that wouldn’t either but I’m more inclined to natural guys who don’t use gimmicks and tricks to get what they want, but more like people like Alex Alman and Jae Ellis. Some of the nicest guys I have met in pick-up and normal too.

I see guys who attempt to be someone else when they do pick-up, someone fake, just to get laid and sorry my friends, getting laid is all its about. There are times for sex, and yeah I will admit, it most of the time, but to get interesting, you need to be interested. Let me repeat that, to get interesting, you need to be interested. The passionate confident male is always interested in interesting things. Its about taking in what life has to offer and appreciating it. I felt limited with this respect doing pick-up!

It started out as a life lesson when I read DYD from David D and then Mystery. I made that connection that so many of us do. Lets face it, many guys just don’t get it at all! The thing was though as my game got better and better on the outside, I noticed that more and more things on the inside started creeping and crawling until my inner game was filled with creepy crawlers eating at my brain. It almost seems like an oxymoron, but gaming women was corrupting my personal confidence. I believe I was starting to become more and more ingrained into being a pick-up artist rather than living and experiencing life to its fullest.

I have seen so many guys in this niche start to loose their identities in the hopes of becoming a ladies man, but I challenge this notion. Isn’t one of the reasons you got into pick-up was because you were deserving a relationship. Now it just seems like everything you are doing is about gaming, while your personal identity slips away. I have seen many a man, good people, completely change and become someone else. I am not anybody else, I am just JunkyFungus, but a whole lot smarter than I was a couple of years ago. Of course I plan to fuck my way through Memphis, but at the same time I plan to also seek out life.

Stop being something that you aren’t. Don’t let pick up consume your life, let life consume the pick up. Enjoy.

I have an identity crisis. I think everyone at some point has an identity crisis. Most of us experience it a couple of times in our lives. Some call it puberty, when our voice starts to crack and our hormones go wild, in essence we become an adult in body, albeit our maturity has a long way to catch up. Then when we finally start to identify with ourselves and we come to grips with our lives, who we are, where we are, our job, our status, all of a sudden the “Mid-Life Crisis” comes a creeping! The stereotypical male goes out and buys a sleek fast sports car, while the female joins aerobics and gets a face lift.

Its always been amazing to me to watch my friends grow and develop as people throughout the years. I’ve had some friends who have identified with the music thing, and it dictates how they act and the very clothes they wear. Some of my friends have become computer geeks and its evident in their geeky style of clothing. Khaki pants, a polo style shirt with a logo of some software company embroidered on the front that barely covers their pudgy spare tire.

Typically the American media circus determine our stereotypes, now more than ever. Reality shows, far from any type of reality I have ever experienced, portray our lives and how we are supposed to live them. Radio and MTV plays the songs they tell us are popular, all the while the national news channels have gone 24 hours. Is Natalie Holloway really so important that even after a year we still are beleaguered with monthly updates, while Elliot Spitzer’s whore is making millions on bad music? Popularity has run amok.

We are preached to from every angle of how we are supposed to walk, what to eat, drink, when to shit, cry, sleep. TV is a mad commercial filled with advertisements for the “Wonder Cure” for every conceivable ailment ever known to man, some ailments that have not even been named yet. We are bombarded with infomercials for “Hip Hop Abs,” “LA Weight Loss,” wonder pharmaceuticals! Diets for this, creams for that, these jeans will make you a super model. Buy, buy buy, call 1-800… Identities are fast becoming not who we are, but more so who they want you to be.

I turned forty last September, and by every account I should be going through an identity crisis. It is my right and it has been bestowed upon me by the moguls of media and social hypes. I should have two kids off in college, a house and car payment, my wife and I are both overweight, but we have a health plan and are looking forward to retirement. We sit in front of TV and watch Fox News at night and cry for our troops and damn President Bush. We go to church on Sundays and live our dream, the American dream.

But that’s not me. I’m forty years old and I don’t fit into that mold, or any other that could describe me. Well maybe I am a bit overweight! I look back upon my life and I really don’t recall ever maturing, or having this epiphany where I came to grips with maturity. I’ve never had a desire to hold down a job or work a career. I have enough college credits for two degrees, yet no degree hangs on my wall. I’ve studied journalism, computer science, history, English, philosophy, psychology and a few others all as majors. I’ve written for magazines and newspapers, owned companies, served as a grunt in the US Army, but even today as I write this I have no direction, no desire to grow up to be something. Even as a child I had no goals to grow up to be a fireman, or for that matter anything else.

So when we don’t have aspirations or fit into the corporate mold or the ones standardized by television marketing where do we fit in and how do we create our identity? A student of life I seek out knowledge to help me in understanding myself and bettering my interactions with others. About three years ago I stumbled onto the “seduction community” and although I’ve made it this far without a personal avatar I realized it was an essential part of being according to most everyone.

I was walking around in life without being anyone let alone who I was. I had no clear vision of what I wanted to be or who I even thought I should be. Most people identify who they are, by what job they work. Ask someone just entering into the seduction community who they are and they will say a “Pick Up Artist.” On the other hand ask a true master of seduction in the community who they are, and they might answer “A student on the road of life.” Striking differences and who is right?

There are times when I go out and I wear my hair slicked back NYC style with lots of jell. I’ll wear my cream colored sports jacket, burgundy polo dress shirt, black slacks and $100 shoes. When it’s sunny you’ll always see me with my $300 Oakley’s on. Open collar means thousand dollar gold chain hanging round my neck. Formal: I’ll be wearing my Fosil watch for sure.

Lately I’ve been dressing a certain way to create an identity through clothes. Like I’ve said though, most people identify with their jobs when you ask them who they are. I love my job and I must, considering most weeks I work about 70 to 80 hours doing it. I work for the worlds largest pheromone producer and probably have a cooler job than most people can even dream of. But where does that lead me in identity and is it really who I am? My job does not define me as a person, it is not my core identity. By definition I cannot say I’m the rocker, or the preppy guy. What if my identity crosses the boundries of all music and cultures.

I sought out a pair of boots, the kind that are made to look distressed and they have the buckle on one side. They look like a pair of old rocker boots. I finally found a pair at the mall (rocker boots at the mall! Oxymoron?) and I decided I would next create an identity around them. I bought myself a wallet chain, some silver pinky rings with Celtic cross cutouts on them. I dyed my hair black and lately I like to wear jeans. I’ve noticed that whenever I’m out and I see someone similar in dress they nod their hello. When ever I am wearing my stylish executive level clothing I get my due respect from the other suits in the business world. Have we really become a society so dependent on identifying the person by the clothes they wear?

Funny thing though, is that most self-help books and such all tell you you have to start with being yourself. Connecting with yourself so that you can forge the bridge of emotional stability with the world. That’s where it all seems to get lost for me. You see connecting with my core identity means I can connect with just about every identity out there. I am just as comfortable wearing leather pants as I am wearing slacks from Brooks Brothers.

It makes me wonder what my core identity really is. Can I find a way by wearing clothes to identify my identity or can I walk around unidentified and by being unidentified wouldn’t that be an identity of itself? Do I really need an identity after all? Isn’t it all just marketing that tells us we need an identity so that they can better connect with us on a marketable level? Conceivable then, isn’t it possible to be invisible just be avoiding all media hype on class or would that be the rebel class and thus a marketing connection made. Do I feel like this is the Matrix?

In the seduction community there is a term called peacocking. By definition it is the guy who stands out the most by wearing outlandish clothing but being congruent with it. They are the ones who get the most attention and are looked on as brave and exciting and now most guys are doing it. So by being the guy without that identity am I the one guy who stands out in the crowd while everyone else wears glow necklaces and top hats.

I sought out a pair of boots, the kind that are made to look distressed and they have the buckle on one side. They look like a pair of old rocker boots. There about the most peacocked article I own. I created an identity around those boots, or maybe those boots created an identity around me.
